STAFF BIOS

WILLIAM "WILL" ROCKWELL, Editor

William is a Butch-identified mammal splitting his time in New York City between dance parties, public libraries, and blogging at Sex! Work?. He coordinates the Gotham office and puts in his editorial duties like it's his job. The rest of Will's time is spent reluctantly moisturizing.

MONICA SHORES, Editor

Bio coming soon.

AXON DAMIEN LUXE, Art Director

Damien is a high-femme working-class Brooklyn/Toronto based DIY performance artist, writer, and media maker. She has performed at Queeruption 10, The Sex Workers Film and Art Festival Cabaret, Femme 2006, Sista'hood, gone on the Perptual Motion Roadshow, at Ladyfest(s), Cheap Queers, Hysteria, and Mayworks, + tons more shows all over the US and Canada; she also toured with the performance troupe Trash and Ready in 04/05. Her writing has appeared in Geeks, Misfits and Outlaws (2004) and Without A Net (2003). Her recordings include Ice-9 [2007], Bombshell Lexicon (2005) and Bad Girls Belief System (2005). D'Luxe also works as a textile artist in reconstructing/recycling vintage clothing and embroidery; and as a skill-sharing teacher workshopping media skills for the underground. For $pread, she is lead designer and production manager, as well as sometimes an event planner. She loves anything on two wheels, and rhinestones. You can find her online at AxonDLuxe.com or at Heels on Wheels Design.

LOUISE CHEUNG, Photo Editor

Louise is a performance artist and photographer from NYC. She is currently going for her BFA in Photography and when she's not in school she's running around the Lower East Side or creating something. She likes anything that's pink and brightly colored. She can usually be found with her face glued to her laptop or camera. Louise is in charge of photo editing and image sourcing at $pread. When she's not shooting for $pread, she takes photographs of weird and macabre things. Her photography can be seen at her website.

NOREEN WOLFE, Distribution Director

Noreen is a sex worker activist who lives in Brooklyn with her cat, Sam. When she's not conspiring against The Man, she occupies herself with art preservation projects, concocting herbal elixirs, teaching herself how to draw, and raising hell around town with her friends.

SARAH JENNY, New Media Director

Sarah Jenny is a visual artist, cultural producer, and a MA candidate in new media and community organizing. She earned a BA in art and cultural studies. As New Media Director Sarah repairs all those broken links you find so please send them to her. In addition to $pread, she connects activists, media makers, artists, and social justice & arts groups with one another - sort of like a one-woman Myspace. Sarah loves the first amendment and cats (she has two).

PRIVACY POLICY: Wondering why these bios don't say who is or isn't a sex worker? Most of us are current or former sex workers but it is the policy of $pread to protect the privacy of its staff, interns, and volunteers. Although many of us are comfortable disclosing this information, our privacy policy allows those who are not to be involved with the magazine without fear of exposure. Thanks for understanding.
